City limits

Sitting in Washington Square Park you are welcome to witness people living; people fast walking, running, and biking all around the city. Though it's when the sun goes down and the clouds are faint in the darkness. The fountain is still running and the park is packed with conversations and ice cream cones. On walks home, you can still smell the fresh flowers outside family-owned convenient stores. Venders are on every street and corner selling knick-knacks and kids' yo-yos.

The hardest part of the city is dealing with the overwhelming streets of opportunity and prosperity. Actors hang onto the dream of fame, dancers and singers grasp and learn the language of Broadway. Writers stay reading in bookstores and local cafes writing short stories and short memoirs of their childhood memories. Though it's the hope that leads the dreamers to keep on going. It's the strive of getting to look back and thank those small things; those small drama lessons, coffee shops, and people living. Every street walked and markets walked passed, I see people's suenito.

Dreams are what drive us and make us unique. Every suenito and every respira takes time. In this lifetime and the next, you will remember the places that made you. The neighborhoods and streets that make you feel more at home. Taking in the air and inhaling the dreams that made you. The ones that grew with you rather than away.

Running along the streets in the rain, photos are taken of friends taking in the city. Those who love you unconditionally squeeze you tightly knowing who you are, and are meant to be. In a world of chaos and confusion, it's moments like this that make the noise less drowning. Sinking and melting for the passion your friends bring to your life.

So casually watching and so casually living these are the city limits. These are the stories meant to tell and meant to feel. When the world seems too much and the good is mixed in with the bad, city limits make the unknown less stressful. Those people you pass on the street are dressed to impress and dressed to express themselves.

In a park, a cafe, or even a bookstore you will piece together the moments that make you somebody. You are here watching, living, and dreaming that suenito.  Walking towards the city; standing in the middle of the street you watch the lights switch to darkness.
